Frenectomy

A frenectomy is often performed just before or after orthodontic treatment to make sure the upper or lower two front teeth don’t move too far apart from each other. The frenum is a piece of tissue running between these sets of teeth, preventing them from moving in opposite directions and developing a gap in the center. If the frenum is too short or too thick, the two front teeth may become separated. With advanced Waterlase MD^{^™} laser technology, Dr. Lauer can correct the problem without the need for surgery.
